About

Established in 2014, the Tech Journos Forum (TJF) is a non-profit umbrella organization of journalists covering Communication and Information Technology (ICT). TJF has more than 100 members representing Nepal’s major media outlets.

The organization seeks to improve the capacity of journalists covering technology and innovation. For the last eight years, TJF has prioritized knowledge enhancement and impartial reporting for journalists. The organization has organized several trainings, interactions, and research activities to achieve these goals.

TJF’s mission is to support and encourage technological innovation and excellence in the country while equipping journalists with related knowledge.

TJF has undertaken several activities to serve its mission. Here are a few examples:

  • Raised concerns about policies related to technology in public and government forums,
  • Conducted more than 30 events such as workshops, webinars, and trainings to enhance the skills and broaden the horizons of fellow and new journalists,
  • Partnered with and covered various national technology events,
  • Increased public awareness about the use and misuse of new-age technology products and services,
  • Reached out to several ICT stakeholders and invited them to discussion tables to discuss the country’s technological changes and challenges,
  • Encouraged journalists to boldly write stories about the country’s technology landscape and ecosystem with a strong code of ethics.
